• Overview

Because of Covid, we are unable to network with prospective partners, influencers, employees in-person.

As a replacement of in-person events, we can host a “live recording” of a podcast/interview/etc, perhaps with an audience), perhaps with “unofficial” nomikai.

  • Timeframe (?)

  • More info

  • Three goals

    • Networking
    • Content generation
    • Driving traffic
  • Why Podcast?

Podcast is growing in the global market, especially in the U.S., and Chiba, and South Korea.

Japan is a blue ocean, and we see potential growth.

  • Our Request

    1. Find guests and arrange interviews with them.

    2. Prepare interview script.

    3. Take over the show if it goes successful, we are not a media company. Instead, it would be better if we could just sponsor it and have a media company produce it.

We want to budget combined internal labor / promotion costs of $5,000.

  • Phase 0: Preparation

We define scope of the project, cost, expected outcome, and responsibility of members of the project, timeframe, etc.

  • Phase 1: Testing the Idea

The phase 1 is testing ideas by executing the idea; publish 4-6 episodes, preferably 1 episode weekly, see if we get success.

  • Phase 2: TBD

  • Top priority is networking

Content should be related to our products, and should not promote our competitors.

However, the top priority is “networking” and we are flexible to your content suggestions that increase our networking.

  • Should be “actionable tips”?

After listening to the podcast, managers will want to say “so, I learned a valuable lesson from a podcast, here is what we should to do to start being more productive. if you want to learn more, listen to this podcast.”

  • Copyright

We want to make sure that we can legally reuse/repurpose the interview content as we want.

  • Goal 1: Networking

Guests will introduce or recommend to us guests. The pool of potential guests should gradually grow.

  • Goal 2: Content generation

Podcast episode can be repurposed to blog, twitter, YouTube, whitepaper, etc.
We can also put all episode together and publish an audiobook.

  • Goal 3: Driving traffic

Podcast episodes and repurposed content will drive traffic to Inedo.

  • 1. No competitors

Quality of the most popular podcasts for engineers are very low. Audio is bad, structure is bad, and they don’t even have website. We can easily win.

    e.g.
    ‎Rebuild on Apple Podcasts

    engineer meeting podcast

  • 2. Rising technology that enables better listening.

With noise cancelling completely wireless earphone available for low price, perhaps Podcast will be more popular.

  • 3. Perfect fit for our target

Podcast (and audiobook) is a perfect way to consume information and to learn new top-level engineering trends, because

    1. You can learn hands-free on crowded train when you go to the office.
    2. You can multi-task; gym, washing dishes, perfect for busy people.
    3. Rest your eyes. Developer over use their eyes. The last thing is they want to do is stare at blue-light small smartphone display.
      • KPI 1: Guest introduce us a guest

Number of guests introduced or recommended to us by a guest. If the number is zero, or if the pool of potential guests does not grow over time, we will not continue the podcasting.

      • KPI 2: Traffic to website

        Number of session/visitors
        Conversion

      • KPI 3: PodCast performance

        Number of Unique Downloads
        Downloads per episode
        Number of Subscribers
        Backlinks
        Social media traction
        Mails received

      • Other metrics to monitor to optimise content

        Downloads by Time of Day
        User Retention
        Demographics
        Listens by Source
        User Agents
        Sources of traffic
