How have computers negatively impacted society

Nature of technology

One may think that technology isn't intrinsically immoral as people can utilize technology for both social good and bad. It is my opinion that this is too an extremist a view, and that different technologies are more or less suited to abuse. A watch can't be used to cause the same amount of social harm as the internet, likewise a watch can't be used to produce the same amount of social good as the internet. Each technology can be utilized for good or bad to differing extents.

In this essay I will outline how major advancements in computer technology have been abused to cause social harm.
