Zumba Workout And Fitness And Its Origins
Zumba has been a topic in the mouths of many people lately whether on the news, online or even in the casual conversation you hear at work drinking your cup of coffee. You could be forgiven for thinking that Zumba is an obscure dance form or a fad from Hollywood But think twice. Zumba is a concrete and easily accessible form of exercise that is based on dance.
It’s a fitness and fitness tool that can help you in improving your health, and, more importantly, it is extremely engaging and lets you make new friends through dancing and that’s an excellent thing in my opinion. Zumba unlike other types of dancing is not bound by the tradition of having to dance with someone else and therefore you don’t have to suffer the shame and shyness people feel when taking the dancing in the ballroom, or Latin dance styles; additionally, this means that you don’t have to dance Zumba with a companion or need to think about finding a dance partner and as we all know, that asking someone to dance requires an amount of courage when they are not used to dancing.
Therefore, to conclude Zumba is an amazing exercise, it boosts overall health and fitness. It is an ideal opportunity to get off of the couch and get out of the house to experience and gain the health and fitness you have always desired.
Where did Zumba originate? Zumba is believed to have been created through Alberto “Beto” Perez a native of Cali Columbia, Alberto was in the late 1990’s an instructor of aerobics and fitness and was also a teacher of the classic moves that he was able to master and had been doing this for some time. However, as with many things they seem to come from nowhere and a happy accident or so.
Alberto was one day away from his routine aerobics at home and was forced to come up with improvised songs for the class. The thing Alberto did was to use mix tapes that he had made of the songs that he was raised with, such as Salsa and Merengue and, like a miracle, Alberto came up with a fresh way to dance to music , and one that would allow the music to really motivate you to move. This is how Zumba as a dance-inspired exercise and fitness program was born. A new method to gain fitness and health, and have enjoyment while doing it come to be.
In 1999, Alberto purchased Zumba in 1999. He then moved it to America after being approached by business men Alberto Perlman along with Alberto Aghion, they together chose the brand name Zumba Fitness. They registered their name Zumba. The following years, Zumba’s capabilities as a workout and fitness program became apparent. DVD’s were introduced and it being the Zumba Fitness Party brand really getting noticed, the first academy established to help new instructors learn how to instruct this dance-based fitness phenomenon.
In 2008, the hugely loved Zumba Fitness Total Body Transformation System DVD was released with Alberto Perez himself along with new Zumba Fitness stars Tanya Beardsley and Gina Grant. In the last few months, for all gamers (myself included) an Zumba Fitness game was launched across all major gaming consoles: the Wii, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
