The Covid-19 pandemic left some uncertainty as to how the course was going to be. More and more students started to think that “i need someone to write my paper for me“. And it is that with the security measures that must be complied with according to the health authorities, it was difficult to imagine a university life. Even so, the first quarter of the course has begun trying to keep the universities as safe spaces to be able to do classes as normal as possible.
It is undeniable that university life has changed with Covid-19, but despite this, universities are working with all their resources to be able to offer the student group a course with the best conditions.
In order to adapt to the current situation, the most important thing is to ensure that universities are also safe spaces. To do this, the classes and activities have changed their format and their ways of doing it.
Due to the need to make classrooms safe spaces to study, this year changes have been made in the operation of the classrooms:
Group reduction. The 2020-21 academic year has started with the most empty university classrooms. This does not mean that there are fewer students studying, but rather that the groups of students who study in person have been reduced so that there is only half the capacity in the classes.
Schedule changes. Another change that goes hand in hand with the previous one is the changes in schedules that have been made due to the reduction of groups. And is that what the vast majority of universities are doing is combining the two groups that have emerged from what was one last year, so that face-to-face and virtual classes alternate.
Adaptable activities and online resources. In this first trimester, it is being noticed that the universities have learned the lesson of confinement. Now, the activities are designed so that they can also be done if isolation occurs again. In addition, teachers are also using many more online resources so that it is possible to do as much as possible from home if necessary or preferred.
Virtual subjects in necessary cases. For example, in the event that the professor of a subject is a person of special risk, it could be that that particular subject is taught online throughout the course to protect it.
The security measures that are being taken in this course in the universities to ensure that these are safe spaces may vary according to the center and the autonomous community, but in general, they are the following:
As for the protocol to be followed in the event that someone tests positive for Covid-19, this is based on isolating the entire group for two weeks.
